2011-2012 season commences

We welcome bandsman Nicholas Brill to the solo cornet bench of the ISB. Nick is a graduate of The Royal Welsh College of Music, and is active in his local corps at Cwm, in South Wales.

Damian Wileman was a member of the ISB for 6 years, and established himself as a fine Bb Bass player. We were therefore, sad to be saying farewell to Damian as a member of the band. He served the band with commitment and enthusiasm, who along with many others in the band, travelled a great distance each week (from Sheffield) to rehearsal. We thank Damian for his contribution to the life of the band, and indeed, wish him well.

Many members of the ISB have leadership roles within there corps, and Iain Parkhouse has (once again), taken on the role as Bandmaster at the Croydon corps.

Congratulations to Lyndon Moorby, a member of our Trombone section upon his recent engagement to Kay Mason. Best wishes for the future from the ISB! Lyndon is Songster Leader at the Leeds West Hunslet Corps.

ISB recording projects planned for 2011-2012 include:

The ISB plays new music most weeks of the year, with many pieces making there way on the ISB concert programme. There was lots of 'new' music written for ISB120, in June, and the following are some of the titles from '120' that are featured in our current programme.

Watch out for some of these and other new titles being published by SP&S.
