Ashley Durrant

Ashley joined the ISB September 2010 and is a member of the Guisborough Citadel Corps where he has served as Deputy Bandmaster for 22 years and Singing Company leader for 10 years.

His academic achievements include a Certificate in Education (Cert.Ed) as well as Drum Kit Grades and ABSRM Grades in Music. He is employed as a Peripatetic Percussion Teacher in various Private Schools.

Ashley’s week involves a round trip of 508 miles by car to Band Rehearsals (8-9hours) and if by train 2hrs 40mins each way!

Rob Hayward

Rob became a member of the ISB in March 2012 and attends the Birmingham Citadel Corps where he is Young Peoples' Bandleader.

Rob gained a BMus(hons) in Orchestral Percussion Studies.

He is employed by the local music service, Sandwell Music and Arts Service, where he is Contemporary Team Leader. (Contemporary i.e. Rock, Pop and World Music)

Trevor Caffull

Trevor first joined the ISB in 1989 till 2005, later returning to the band in September 2011.

Following spells at Bristol Easton and Croydon Citadel, Trevor is now a member of the Kettering Corps.

Corps leadership roles over the years have included - YP Band Leader (Bristol Easton), Deputy Bandmaster (Croydon), and now he is the Band Sergeant at Kettering.

His professional life is also within The Salvation Army as Managing Director of Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd.

Martin Tiplady

Martin joined the ISB in 1989, and has served under three ISB conductors - Colonel Ray Bowes and Colonel Robert Redhead as well as Stephen Cobb. 

Martin attends The Hendon Corps, together with his wife, Lyn. He has served in the corps band there since 1978 and was, up until recently, the Band Secretary. 

Professionally, Martin runs his own HR and Management Consultancy. He is the former HR Director of four major organisations including The Metropolitan Police in London.

Andrew Dickinson

Andrew joined the band in January 2008, and currently serves as principal horn.

He is an active member of the Birmingham Citadel corps. 
His studies were in the area of town & country planning, however, Andrew serves as a finance Analyst for Salvation Army DHQ West Midlands

Andrew was the first bandsman from Birmingham Citadel to be commissioned as a Staff Bandsman, but has since be joined by Gavin Lamplough (Solo Cornet) and Rob Hayward (Percussion)

Nick Brill

Nick has currently been with the ISB since September 2013 (having previously served for a few months)

He is a member of the Cwm Corps in South Wales where he serves in the Band and Songsters.

His music studies took place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Cardiff where he gained a BMus First Class Honours. In 2008 he was made Principal cornet of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Brass band and in 2009 was awarded the Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust Brass Student of the Year. Nick was also a member of the Cory Band between 2008 and 2011.
