Day 10 - Seattle

Occupation: Music Training & Development Specialist
Easter Sunday began with the ISB joining with the corps at Seattle Temple for a corps breakfast. 150 for cooked breakfast and pancakes … good start to the day!
It was fitting that our last engagement was the Easter Sunday morning service. A packed congregation, plus Divisional and Territorial Leaders gathered for this celebration. Music from the ISB included ‘The Power of the Cross’ (Paul Sharman), and ‘I Know Thou art Mine (Len Ballantine). We were supported by the Seattle Temple Songsters who gave an excellent rendition of an upbeat arrangement of ‘Christ the Lord is Risen Today’.Our executive officer Lt. Col. David Hinton gave the Easter address.
Following the service, the ISB gave a short impromptu concert, which included ‘Blessing and Honour’ (Paul Sharman – the most featured composer of the tour!), and ‘Let Everything Praise’ (Martin Cordner). However, for many, the tour, the message, the ministry of the ISB, was encapsulated in the final benediction, the playing of the hymn tune ‘Randolph’ (Take my life and let it be – Consecrated Lord, to Thee).
Following the morning and the packing up – in tour tradition, we headed off for another meal, this time to the Space Needle, with its panoramic views over Seattle. Off to the airport then, for the flight home to London (arriving Easter Monday).
As I write this (Tuesday 6th April)… the Staff Bandmaster, Deputy Bandmaster, Band Secretary, and, Band Manager, have all made it in to the office!
Finally then, grateful thanks to the USA Western Territory, and their leaders for making this a trip of real impact for the ISB, the Salvation Army, and we believe, for the Kingdom.
… next overseas engagement …. Govan (Scotland) in 2 weeks time!
PS We do hope you enjoyed following our USA West Tour and reading the reports etc. We thank you for your interest in the ISB, and your prayerful support.
